Under the typical confused directionless Obama administration, NASA is being put on the back burner. It seems all the technological achievements brought about through space research and the eventual economic benefits of those new technologies will be ignored like everything else D.C. is refusing to think about. Beyond that there is the psychological effect of being a world leader technologically, it seems the powers that be are forgetting you have to dream, you have to reach for big goals or else you limit yourself until you are nothing more than a “could have been” living on past glories in a run down shack. That happens to people, and it happens to countries. Let’s look forward to something, not just focus on problems and past achievements by earlier generations.

I do feel NASA needed a shake up and to re-focus it’s goals on deep space instead of near earth, but to be shelved for ten or twenty years is just stupid. Washington D.C. still refuses to learn the lesson that you can’t solve problems by ignoring them or regulating them. Becoming deaf, dumb, and blind to things doesn’t solve problems or make them go away.
